1920s Inspired Makeup

I thought I would give you one quick post before I go to bed on a makeup I did a few weeks ago. I turned my lovey friend Sarah into a beautiful 1920s styled doll. Here is a before of Sarah with minimal normal makeup on.

And then after applying the makeup and doing finger waves in Sarah s hair this is what I transformed her into.

I started this look by doing the eye first as they are quiet a heavy covered eye and I did not want to get any fall out onto the foundation so it was alot easier to do the eyes first. Firstly I used Painterly by Mac it is about  £15 in the Mac store and comes in alot of different colours, I like to used this Bare Study as I used it as a primer underneath any eye shadow as the shade sits better on the lid. I then used a beige color I have in a color pallet I bought for about £6 of ebay, I find any cheap shadows can be good as long as you have a good primer to put them over the top of. I then used Mac Fluidline in Blacktrack on the lid along the lash line and quickly smudged it out across the lid repeating untill the whole lid is over as

showen above, whne do this you have to work quickly as the Blacktrack can dry quiet fast. To set the Fluidline I just a coat o black eye shadow over the top of it and created a smokey blended effect around the edges of the black and also smoked the black under the bottom of the eye.

After the eyes I cleaned up and fall out and used Mac C1 Face and Body foundation on Sarah's skin as she is quiet pale and I wanted the look to be quiet pale anyway, as this was just a simple 1920s look I did not do any contouring I just added peach blusher on the apples of her cheeks, a redish pink lipstick by Barry M in the shape of a giggle lip and filled in the brows added mascara and pined her hair up at the back and did finger waves in the front.

If anyone would like me to do a video tutorial of this look please leave me a comment and I will be happy to do so. I will leave some more pictures at the bottom of this look, I hope you liked it, please let me know if there is another
way in which you would prefer to see me post my tutorials and explanations of looks I have done. Also my friend Sarah's is also a studying MUA and has her own page please follow her at.....Sarah Catherine Blair

Hello World :)
So Halloween is fast approaching and I have been practising my make-up.
This was my first attempt without eye make up, I was just practising my liquid latex
wound out, it is ment to look like I have been scratched by a large cat.
I need to practise bledning the latex in more as it is different to my skin colour.
This was my second attempt, my blending is alot better on this one but still needs work,
I added what I may have my eyes like, I love the blue one but wanted the purple, pink
one as I want to look like I am turning into the Cheshire Cat, the wound it's self tho
looks alot better it looks better and more gory.

So tell me what you think, let me know of any tips you have for liquid latex
and please post up links of any idea's you have had for Halloween

Make up inspirations

Hello :)
So last night I got a little bored and had a quick go at some character inspired
Make overs.

This is my take on a quick Pikachu Make over, I used:

Foundation, Laval; Fair 600
Primer, Collection 2000; Primed & Ready
Powder, Laval; Loose translucent powder 701
Eyeshadow, w7, Neon eyes, Yellow
Eyeliner, Laval; Kohl black pencil
Lips, Star Gazer; Black with abit of the yellow eyeshadow over the top
Blush, w7, Neon eyes, Pink

Corpse Bride inspired Make over,
as you can see it isnt amazing I did this really quickly.
I mainly wanted to have a good of the foundation and contorting. Which I think worked
quiet well. I used;

Foundation, Laval; Fair 600 mixed with blue eyeshadow dust from primark
Primer, Collection 2000; Primed & Ready
Contorting, Mini Bourjois; Eyeshadow powder, Blue
Eyeshadow, Mini Bourjois; Eyeshadow powder, blue

Lips, Un known; Baby pink lipstick

Make-up Studies

Hello Lovelies :)
So As I said in my last post I am now studying to become a Make-up artist and I am loving it!
Each week I do two different looks in college and I will post them both up at
the end of the week. I have been there for a few weeks now so Ill post up
what I have done so far :)
Week 1
It was introduction week so we just messed around with bruises etc...

Week 2
The second week we just did a natural look but I learnt how to properly apply Foundation,
and how do a cleanser.

Week 3
3 colour blend with Dark purple, a lighter purple and pink, and a white highlight under the brow.

Week 4
Dark blend for night look, with brow highlight.

Week 5
This week we where told to do a thin eye-liner and any hair style we want
then change it into a thicker liner
Then we had to change that into a face paint of owe choice, I chose a creepy doll as
my client had the perfect face for it!

Week 6
This week we did two in one lesson as we have now gotten fast at apply the foundation,
this look was for theatre make up, for when the client is under bright lights. The make-up would
not look as harsh as it does here, I have contorted the nose, chin, under chin and cheeks.
After blending in the contorted lines from the above photo I added blusher, pink lip stick
and eye make-up, I took the inspiration for the eye shadow from the pink and purples
of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.

Week 7                                       For our last week before half term we had to bring a picture of any Make-up style that we wanted to do, I found this one on face book. Mine on the left is not as perfect as the one on the right done by Glitter Girl C But I am quiet happy with my version as my first go :)

So this is what I have learnt over the past 7 weeks i college,
I will as of next friday (2nd) post what I have done up
at the end of every week.

Peace & Love
